ASTM F2700
Standard Test Method for Unsteady-State Heat Transfer Evaluation of Flame Resistant Materials for Clothing with Continuous Heating
This test method measures the heat transfer through flame resistant materials for clothing subjected to a continuous, combined convective and radiant heat exposure. The test apparatus exposes the test specimen to a combined direct flame convective and high intensity radiant exposure condition. This test method is not applicable to materials that are not flame resistant and does not compute predicted skin burn injury. The computed heat transfer performance value of the test specimen is based on the intersection with an established empirical performance curve.
