Protective clothing against heat and flame — Part 1: Test method for complete garments – Measurement of transferred energy using an instrumented manikin

This test method describes a test method to evaluate protective clothing against flash fire exposure.  A stationary, upright flame-resistant manikin wearing test specimen protective clothing is exposed to a simulated fire with controlled heat flux and flame conditions. Sensors on the manikin measure heat transfer over time to calculate total energy absorbed and predict potential skin burn injuries. This data helps evaluate garment performance and estimate possible skin damage under the specified test conditions.
